Volunteering for a passionate job!
Groodles Australia relies on the generosity of special Champions to provide loving, permanent homes for our breeding mums and dads.
Our Champion Families must be patient, dedicated to quality time, possess a great love for and understanding of animals and have an appropriate home environment to raise several litters.
It is our philosophy that our breeding dogs are considered first and foremost as beloved family pets.
Volunteer families will be supported, guided and visited regularly by Groodles Australia staff, who will always consider what is best for the welfare of the breeding dog, its offspring and the family involved. Becoming a Champion should be carefully considered as it is a big responsibility. Raising beautiful, social and healthy pups is a big job – and the Champion Families we select are very special indeed!
It is expected that our Champion Families have raised dogs before or have a basic knowledge of dog behaviour. It is very important to us that our breeding dogs are well socialised and well mannered. We ask our Champion homes to commit to obedience training for their puppy. Starting with puppy preschool at your local vet, followed by further training at your own cost.
We understand this is a big commitment but we find our Champions enjoy being part of a program that not only helps improve the quality of the breed, but also a program who gives back to the community through donations made from puppy sales and also providing assistance and therapy dogs.

We are more than happy to discuss what is involved in the program, or how else you may contribute in supporting Groodles Australia.
All Champions must live in the Ipswich/Brisbane and surrounds region.
Advance Pet Food have very generously sponsored our program and will feed all our Champion dogs for free for the duration of their time in our program. This means up to 5-7 years of free food. We are very excited about this sponsorship as this allows us to make larger donations to charity.

Each year we have an annual get together with all our breeding dogs as a thank you to all who keep Groodles Australia running.
By joining out community, you are welcomed into our network of like-minded generous people who will support you through the breeding process. Some of our families have made life long friends through our dogs.
We have an exclusive Facebook page for all our Champion families and volunteers to use as a resource to connect, ask for help and stay updated.
Our Groodles Australia team are getting more involved in the charities that we support. We want to see the difference we are making with our donations for ourselves and see where else we can help.
Annually the Timor Childrens Foundation (TCF) hold a luncheon to update their community on the impact the foundation is having in Timor Leste. Our Groodle team are welcome to join this event and are welcomed with open arms by TCF.
Opportunities may arise where our Groodle volunteers can accompany TCF on trips to Timor Leste to volunteer and help with the dental program that operates as well as other help that is needed.
